At the first glance, Niles Pantry looks like just another corner store. But a closer look reveals a bilingual sign the front door. The top part is written in Arabic script. The bottom part is in English, announcing that Middle Eastern food is available here.

A few Golf Mill Shopping Center customers looked on as Niles Chamber of Commerce & Industry members and village officials lined up in front of the D&K Clothiers men’s clothing store for the grand opening ceremony. The April 16 ceremony was simple and to the point. Mayor Robert Callero cut the ribbon, and Chamber of Commerce members shook store president Klaudio Celiku’s hand, congratulating him on joining Niles’ business community. The store already had a “soft opening” a month earlier. The grand opening, which was organized by the Chamber of Commerce, was meant to be D&K’s official introduction to Niles. …
