Niles Police Blotter for the week of Dec. 6, 2012

The following incidents were listed in the reports of the Niles Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
BATTERY
Arturo Salazar-Guerrero, 22, of 8262 Elizabeth Ave., Niles was arrested on Nov. 28 and charged with domestic battery. A 34-year-old woman told police that Salazar-Guerrero punched her in the face after they got into an argument while playing cards. He has a Dec. 7 court date.
RETAIL THEFT
Michael Deles, 18, of 2202 N. 74th Ct., Elmwood Park, and a 15-year-old from Park Ridge were each charged with retail theft on Nov. 29 at Golf Mill Shopping Center. Police said Deles worked with the 15-year-old to steal two watches valued at $25 each from a mall store.
Dariusz Swistak, 48, of 1105 S. Roberts, Mount Prospect, was charged Nov. 28 with retail theft on the 5600 block of Touhy Avenue. Police said Swistak was accused of placing various office supplies inside a “bed in a bag” and then purchasing just the bedding. The value of the items was $290.74, police said. Swistak has a Jan. 14 court date.
DUI
Martin Villanueva, 40, of 2546 W. Rascher, Chicago, was arrested on Nov. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident at Touhy and Milwaukee Avenues. Niles police officers responded to the intersection for a report of a car accident when Villanueva allegedly fled the scene. He has a Dec. 12 court date.~.
