Niles Police: daughter threatened mother with knife

NILES — A Niles woman was charged with aggravated assault earlier this month after she allegedly raised a large kitchen knife to her mother.
Niles Police said Amanda Grzetic, 21, of 8716 Elmore St., admitted that she threatened her 64-year-old mother with a knife during an argument inside her apartment on the night of Feb. 4
Grzetic’s mother told police she locked herself in a bathroom with one of daughter’s children in an effort to avoid arguing with Grzetic, and when she heard the door open she reported seeing Grzetic in the doorway holding the knife and yelling. The mother was able to exit the bathroom and call 911, police said.
Police located the knife on the kitchen table and took Grzetic into custody. Her next court date is Feb. 26.
