Dangerously cold temperatures on tap

It will be a blustery and cold Martin Luther King Day in Chicago.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory from 6 p.m. Monday through 9 a.m. Tuesday. The wind chill could drop as low as minus 14 degrees, according to the weather service.

Monday’s forecast calls for highs around 12 degrees. Wind gusts could reach up to 30 mph.

Frostbite can occur within 30 minutes, the weather service advises.

Temperatures are expected to rise by Wednesday, with highs expected in the 20s.
