More than 50 chefs, bakers and pâtissiers donated treats to “For the Love of Chocolate” to celebrate The French Pastry School’s 9th annual chocolicious gala on Feb. 22.
Then dressed to the nines in the spirit of the Roaring Twenties, more than 850 chocoholics stormed the Union League Club of Chicago to sample the cooks’ wares, including delicate pastries, fondant cakes, pie pops, chocolate-dipped strawberries and chocolate liqueurs on offer.
The event raised $180,000, bringing the celebration’s sum total to more than $500,000 over the course of its run. All proceeds to go fund scholarships for aspiring pastry professionals seeking a top quality education at the French Pastry School, 226 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.
