Twelve newly trained adults were sworn into their volunteer position by Judge Valerie Ceckowski as representatives of the Lake County Juvenile Court on Jan. 30.

To serve as advocates for abused and neglected children, they went through 40 hours of training at CASA University in Vernon Hills. “Their training will enable them to turn around the life of a child by making sure the children are safe, healthy, doing well in school and in other parts of their life,” said Terri Zenner Greenberg, executive director of CASA. The ceremony brings the total of CASA advocates to 312.
