Using scraps to make recycled sheets of paper was the topic of a workshop hosted by the Morton Grove Historical Museum.
“It was very well-attended,” said Mary Busch, museum curator. “And we had a great time. We packed the place. We had a Boy Scout Troop and two Girl Scout troops, along with a lot of people from the community.”
Participants in the program, held Feb. 11, 13 and 14, blended the scraps with water to make a slurry.
They then strained the slurry to make the recycled paper.
The Morton Grove Park District operates the museum.
Other Park District programs include Family Fun Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 25, at Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster St., and a star-gazing program that begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in the museum, 6240 Dempster St., and next door at Harrer Park.
